Welcome to Season 21 of one of America’s favorite fast-paced and super intense cooking shows with an old vs. new twist this year: Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages! On this season of Hell’s Kitchen, there is a team of 40-something year-old chefs and a team of 20-something year-old chefs, battling it out to become one of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s next prodigies/superstars.

With week two coming to a close, two chefs have already been eliminated. While most people would think one chef eliminated per episode, this week, that proved to be different because two chefs went home in one episode!

Let’s dive into who the first chef who was sent home is: Chef Charlene Sherman!

What are your thoughts on Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages thus far? Let’s chat!

Who is Charlene? What’s her story? Why is she here on Hell’s Kitchen? Let’s find all of that out and so much more down below…here we go!

Where is Charlene Sherman from?

Hailing all the way from Worland, Wyoming, Chef Charlene was hoping to prove that she had what it took. She seemed like a strong contender (at the very least) from the first episode. Fun fact about Charlene! She is the first Chef to come from the state of Wyoming! She ultimately just wanted her kids back at home to be super proud of her more than anything else!

How old is Chef Charlene?

She is forty-years old and becomes a statistic by being the first contestant to be eliminated without being nominated in a challenge.

Before coming onto Hell’s Kitchen, what was her occupation?

Chef Charlene Sherman works as a Private Chef back at home.

What was her Signature Dish Challenge Score and how’d she do?

During the coveted and ever-so-famous Signature Dish Challenge during the first episode, Charlene seemed to already be proving herself worthy from Gordon Ramsay. He cooked up some Cowboy Ribeye, which Chef Ramsay stated was perfectly seasoned on-point and perfectly cooked. She was so proud of herself and stated how much she enjoys cooking this for her kids back at home. Ramsay liked it so much that he gave her a well-earned 4 out of 5 stars. At this point, I kinda thought that she’d end up somewhere in the middle of the pack, definitely not getting sent home first, that’s for sure.

Why was she eliminated?

Well, folks. It was super plain and simple. Her chicken wings during the Chicken Wing Challenge, just weren’t up to par. She essentially made an ‘unknown’ dish and was not named as a part of the top three. She also had some major troubles working the meat station with Billy during the blue team’s first dinner service, in which they all ultimately got kicked out and send back to the dorms.

Among other things, this is what she said upon exiting Hell’s Kitchen:

"“I’m definitely disappointed. You know, I didn’t come all the way out here for one dinner service. But I’d lost my confidence, and I was not taking the initiative. And it was a fatal error.”"

It seems to me that Ms. Charlene over here forgot that communication is key whenever you’re on Hell’s Kitchen. If you can’t communicate with your team, let alone someone who you are working the very same station with, then you simply just aren’t cut out and simply can’t take the heat!

Oh well, maybe she should just stick to making her Cowboy Ribeye for her kids and family who ultimately won’t scream at her over the smallest of errors over simply nothing!

Don’t forget to tune into Hell’s Kitchen Battle of the Ages ever Thursday night at 7PM CST!
