Trick or treat? This is definitely not a trick, but definitely a treat. Starting on Halloween, October 31, 2022, McDonalds will be bringing back one of the most controversial menu items ever…the McRib! I say controversial not because of the item itself, but just because of all of the buzz that it gets online alone. You either love the sandwich or you hate it (because you definitely can’t have both).

We’re hoping that this is more of a ‘see you later’ sort of thing as opposed to watching it ride away into the beautiful saucy sunset forever.

What’s your favorite part about the McRib? Let’s take a look at McDonalds greatest hits about this saucy fan-fave…for one last time, that is!

Here are the McRib’s Greatest Hits, according to McDonalds themselves (in time order):

1. “McRib Is Born”

Yes, this was the sandwich’s official birthday. Back in 1980, McDonalds officially introduced their tangy, saucy boneless pork rib sandwich to fans all across the country. To this day, fans still enjoy it and many (if not all) will be super sad to see it go (but nothing’s really ever gone).

2. “Mini And Me”

Enter the McRib Junior! Yes, that’s right. In case you were unaware of this, back in 2003 (I was just five years-old), Mickey D’s came out with a mini version of this particular sandwich. Personally, I think that they should’ve thought about bringing that back as well…for the children.

3. “500 McRib Miles”

Back in 2008, there was one McRib fan in particular who loved the sandwich probably more than everyone in the world (at the time, at least, but would absolutely love to see where they are today). This saucy superfan came up with the McRib locator so more aficionados could find it!

4. “McRib 24/7”

Ever been gearing up for your favorite musical artist or sports team to come into town and you stood outside the venue waiting, no matter the weather? I personally haven’t but back in 2020, someone did just that in anticipation of this classically saucy sandwich…he did what was needed.

5. “The Future Is McRib”

While I personally can’t believe that this has actually happened, someone wanted an NFT of the McRib so bad (still don’t know what this is tbh), that yes, there is one. I have no idea what this means, but somewhere out there, there are digital versions of this saucy delight as well…

6. “My BBQ BFF”

All the way back in 2021, McRib superfan Rodney Harris took to Twitter to show the Twitterverse just how excited he was for the return of the sandwich, as well as his excited anticipation for his friend, Rob Hughes, to try one for the first time…love his enthusiasm!

7. “See Ya Later, McRib”

This iconic sandwich has been around for almost forty years now, on and off of course. Please, if you’ve never tried one, or would like one for what could be the last time, then now’s your chance to do so. I know I’ll be venturing out to my nearest McD’s one last time…I’m sad, but I’ll live.

Hot. When is the McRib returning to McDonald’s!?. light

That’s a wrap on the latest McDonald’s news, folks!
