Last Christmas Peacock gave foodies everywhere Baking It, a spinoff of their popular reality series Making It. Except the new series saw pairs of home bakers compete in holiday-themed challenges to see who would walk away with the $50,000 cash prize.

Hosted by Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg, the series was a fun take on the baking competition genre with a holiday theme. Rudolph and Samberg were excellent as the hosts and the judging panel made up of opinionated grandmothers helped it stand apart.

Now word from Deadline is that Baking It will be back for Season 2, but with a few changes. There will be one less episode than Season 1 and a new co-host teamed up with the returning Rudolph. But the change should make plenty of people very happy.

Baking It Season 2, as well as a new special, arrive on Peacock December 12

Replacing Andy Samberg for Season 2 is none other than Amy Poehler, fellow Saturday Night Live alum and executive producer of both Baking It and Making It. While the two have been in countless movies together, this will be the first time they have appeared together on a reality series.

The new season is set to arrive on the streamer on December 12, the same day a brand new Baking It special will air on NBC. The special will see Rudolph and Poehler inviting some of their celebrity friends to compete in the kitchen for charity.

Considering the megastars these two have in their phone contacts, we can’t wait to see who they actually get to compete.

While it may not be The Great British Baking Show, Baking It is a lighthearted, fun series that will put just about anybody in the holiday spirit.
