Premiere date for Next Level Chef Season 2 set
By D. Goodman
Nine months ago we all watched as Pyet DeSpain walked away as the winner of Season 1 of Next Level Chef on Fox. The series saw Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais form teams that competed against each other on a three-story kitchen monstrosity.
The series was the first from the newly formed Studio Ramsay Global, the production company created jointly by Ramsay and Fox Entertainment. Over the years Ramsay has become one of the most important personalities on the network and Next Level Chef was the first of what is expected to be many new shows.
Next Level Chef was a huge hit in the ratings and a second season was all but guaranteed. The question was not if but when the new season would debut. And according to Variety we now have an answer.
Next Level Chef Season 2 will debut after Super Bowl LVII in February.
Fox apparently has so much confidence in a second season that they have announced that Next Level Chef Season 2 will premiere after the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
The time slot after the Super Bowl is one of the most coveted in television. Networks usually use it to premiere big new series or shows that they want to raise the profile off in a dramatic fashion. So for Ramsay’s series to be given the slot is huge news.
It also shows how important food competitions on television have become over the last few years. Everyone is looking for the next Great British Bake Off or Hell’s Kitchen and apparently Fox feels they have it in Next Level Chef.
According to Variety, both Arrington and Blais will be back for Season 2 with a brand new crop of professional and home chefs as well as social media stars. And of course the triple terror of the three-story kitchen will be back as well.
