Is KFC open on Thanksgiving Day 2022?

KFC. Yes, ‘it’s finger lickin’ good’ but can you get your hands on it every day of the year?

This year, Thanksgiving is celebrated on Thursday, November 24th. Many restaurants and fast food chains are closed on the holiday. But you may be traveling on Thanksgiving and want to stop for a quick lunch or you just might want a bucket of their fried chicken with some mashed potatoes, coleslaw and biscuits as your holiday meal. But is KFC open on Thanksgiving to satisfy all of your fried chicken cravings?

I wanted to find out so I called 1-800-CALL-KFC. While the customer service representative knew that some KFC stores were open in certain states, ultimately he suggested contacting your local restaurant to confirm. In the end, there’s no definitive answer.  And there would be nothing worse than getting excited about the Famous Bowl Fill Up that you plan to enjoy and then discovering that your nearest KFC is closed. So call ahead. Call from the couch or call from the road but it’s worth the extra effort to check before you get there.

Is KFC closed on Thanksgiving 2022?

Here’s the deal: in past years, many KFCs have been closed on Thanksgiving. So, to be on the safe side, I recommend not getting your hopes up on a bucket of extra crispy fried chicken on Thanksgiving Day. If you really need to fill your fried chicken cravings, visit the restaurant either Wednesday night before Thanksgiving or wait until Black Friday.

If you want to improve your chances of some chicken on Thanksgiving, I recommend hitting up your nearest Boston Market. They are known for their rotisserie chicken but also have crispy chicken menu options. Most, if not all, locations look to be open at least part of the day.
