Holiday Baking Championship: Gingerbread Showdown came to an end this week with episode 7. The three teams of bakers had to make gingerbread ski chalets and bake desserts with different liqueurs

This week, the teams consisted of Pat and Amy, Debra and Nicole, and Susan and Aaron. Pat and Amy made their ski chalet come out of a storybook (it looked so cool!) and their dessert was an orange liqueur cream puff.

Debra and Nicole made a fairy winter wonderland that included very real-looking tree stumps. Their dessert was an apple brandy pumpkin gingerbread that honestly looked amazing!

Susan and Aaron made a large ski chalet with mini versions of everyone in their family and their dessert was a raspberry liqueur chocolate shortbread that worked perfectly into their display.

But despite how brilliant all the gingerbread chalets looked, this episode was not without some drama. Pat and Amy’s chalet had some serious structural issues especially when they were attaching it to the edible storybook. Susan and Aaron also had some issues with the structure. Additionally, Aaron needed help setting up the pre-made gingerbread pieces because he did not have as much experience as Susan.

But who won? Let’s start with the dessert challenge. The winner of $1000 worth of bakeware and appliances was Debra and Nicole! Their pumpkin gingerbread truly looked delicious so this was not a surprise.

And who won the $10,000? It was also Debra and Nicole! Their fairy gingerbread ski chalet was so detailed and cute AF. There were signs, little snowshoes, and very real-looking glass globes. Their fairies looked like full-size dolls with unique expressions and hairstyles, and their own little outfits. It was colorful and fun! For how real the tree stumps looked alone…they deserved that win.
