Valentine’s Day is all about indulging and what is more indulging than chocolate? In particular, chocolate ice cream from Coolhaus and Brave Robot is cooler than cool. It’s ice cold.

Outkast reference aside, there is something to be said about enjoying a nice bowl of ice cream for Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re spending it alone, with your partner, or with your friends, no one can be sad when eating Coolhaus or Brave Robot.

What makes these brands special though is that both of them are making some ice creams with a chocolate base. Usually, vanilla is the go-to but I personally feel like chocolate has a much richer flavor. Additionally, Brave Robot also has animal-free dairy and lactose-free options for those who don’t or can’t eat those items.

While Valentine’s Day is known for being a hot holiday, Coolhaus and Brave Robot are here to cool you down and make you savor your evening.

Coolhaus and Brave Robot ice creams are decadent Valentine’s Day treats.

If you’re looking to enjoy some Coolhaus, Brave Robot, or both this season, you’ll want to know what you should be looking for. For Coolhaus, they have “Chocolate Molten Cake” which is chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and frosting. Then there’s the “Dairy Free Cookies & Cream Frozen Dessert Cones” which are cookies and cream with white chocolate in a chocolate cone. Last but not least is the “Midnight Munchies” variety which is chocolate peanut butter ice cream with pretzels and peanut butter cups.

Let me start by thanking Coolhaus for sending me two pints of “Midnight Munchies” to sample and let you know how it is. To put it simply: “Midnight Munchies” is everything. This ice cream is not only incredibly smooth and rich in chocolate flavor but the peanut butter cups and pretzels add that little crunch. I will say one thing negatively and it’s that you need to make sure you’re eating this on an empty stomach because you’ll want to eat the whole container.

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about “Midnight Munchies” aside from how sad I”ll be when I run out. I’ll try to save some to share with my sweetie for Valentine’s Day but we’ll see how long it lasts. Either way, I’d highly recommend this for a Valentine’s Day/night treat especially if you’re near Whole Foods or want to Instacart something.

If you’re lactose intolerant, you won’t have to miss out on the Valentine’s Day fun, though. Brave Robot has you covered with its own flavors starting with “Hazelnut Chocolate Chunk” which is actually hazelnut ice cream and dark chocolate chunks. Then there’s “A Lot of Chocolate” which is chocolate ice cream with fudge swirls and dark chocolate chunks. To round out the chocolate gang, there’s “Chocolate Cherry Brownie” which is chocolate ice cream with brownie chunks and tart cherry slices.

Even though I’m not lactose intolerant, Brave Robot has some out-of-this-world combinations. If you’re looking for a non-dairy alternative but want all of those flavors you still love, Brave Robot has you covered this Valentine’s Day. You can find Brave Robot at your local Kroger store. No matter which brand you decide to go with, you really can’t go wrong with having some ice cream as a Valentine’s Day treat.
