Summer is right around the corner…I can just smell it already. So many people will be planning road trips, picnics, beach trips, and so much more. One of the most fun and delicious things to plan about said trips is of course the food and the snacks!

Some foods are just so perfect for these sorts of occasions, so we’re going to take a look at some of the best snacks to put in your picnic baskets this Summer! Stay tuned for which seven foods make the cut!

What are the seven perfect snacks to put in your Summer picnic baskets?

In no particular order, here are the best 7 snacks to put in your picnic baskets this Summer:

1.  Fresh Focaccia Bread

Anytime there is anything involving bread, count me in! I’ve always wanted to make my own focaccia bread, and a popular food blog called Love and Lemons has a perfect recipe for that that involves literally the best fresh herb on the planet: rosemary. Eat this up plain or bring alongside your favorite hummus or other creamy dip to go alongside these little bread bites just perfectly!

2. Spring Rolls

There are so much that you can do with spring rolls that could involve millions and millions of different food combinations. From Barbecue Chicken to other classic springy flavors, spring rolls are probably one of the most versatile foods that you’ll see on this list. If you’re a peanut noodle lover much like myself, this is the easiest way to eat it on a picnic without making a big mess.

3. Prosecco Grapes

I’ve never personally seen anything like these! One of my favorite fruits to pack up for a picnic or a long-ish road trip is grapes, but of course anything with just a little bit of booze added to it could make the trip even better. Soak these grapes in your favorite prosecco and vodka and roll in sugar for the most perfect picnic buzz ever, all while enjoying all of these other delicious listed snacks!

4. Chicken Salad

Chicken salad is literally one of the best foods to ever exist on this planet in my personal opinion. You can of course put it in a sandwich, but you can also use it as a ‘dip’ and pack some of your favorite crackers to go along with it. You can even bring homemade focaccias too! If you live near a Jewel Osco they make the best White Meat Chicken Salad! If not, then use or make your fave!

5. Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

You can’t go wrong with such a perfect sandwich, now can you?! Whether you pair the ham with Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, or anything else, as long as some delicious bread and cheeses are involved, then I’m a happy camper. Some of the best ham to use in my personal opinion is Sara Lee Honey Ham (or Honey Turkey is ham’s not your jam) and any sort of Tilamook cheddar cheese!

6. Watermelon Salad

I came across this really delicious sounding and looking Thai Watermelon Salad on Delish.com. It involves mixing both watermelon and peaches together which to me sounds like the perfect refreshing beach picnic snack that you’ll need. It also includes basil, scallions, and peanuts! It goes perfectly alongside any sort of protein or sandwiches that might also be at said picnic as well!

7. Pinwheel Sandwiches

Ah, such a classic. I can eat these legitly any time of the year, picnic basket or no picnic basket. One of my personal favorite things to add to a pinwheel sandwich is cream cheese. I make these at home for myself all the time and it usually consists of some sort of lunch meat, sliced or shredded cheese (whatever I’ve got on hand that particular day), bacon bits, and cream cheese! How delish!
