Burger King to bring back fan-favorite Crispy Chicken Sandwich from last year

Burger King’s menu is ever-changing. There are always things coming and going.

Usually the ones that are eventually brought back are either a revamped recipe of an oldie, but a goodie, or they are just simply so loved by fans that BK just can’t help but bring them back. There’s no secret that that’s exactly what’s happening with Burger King’s latest menu item coming back!

What Crispy Chicken Sandwich is Burger King bringing back?!

Starting up again on June 19th, 2023, Burger King will be bringing back the Italian BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich, although some locations are even starting to serve this fan-favorite return as early as this week.

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with what this sandwich actually is, here’s what it deliciously consists of:

"“The Italian BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich features a crispy white meat breast fillet topped with marinara sauce, 2 slices of mozzarella cheese on a toasted brioche-style bun.”"

This menu item originally hit BK’s menus back in November of 2022. Much like it’s original release, the return of said menu item will only last for a limited time offering, so if you enjoyed these or are looking to try one of them for the very first time, then I wouldn’t wait too long to do so.

Here’s my experience with this sandwich. The idea and the execution of said idea are totally off in my opinion. I absolutely loved the idea of almost something like a Chicken Parm sandwich being finally released from a fast food joint. However, my boyfriend and I tried these. And even gave them a second shot before realizing that they just simply weren’t worth the hype. Were they good? Sure, but that’s about it. The sauce was just a tad bit off, the chicken was just a tad bit off, but I would’ve totally taken the bun with the delicious cheese if I had the choice to do so.

All in all, yes, this sandwich is worth trying if you’ve never had it before. It’ll be interesting to try one again to see if the recipe has since changed at all, so I will definitely be doing that!
