Aubrey Plaza x Cointreau celebrate The Original Margarita
Aubrey Plaza is a name a lot of us associate with certain projects including Parks and Recreation, The To-Do List, or even, The White Lotus. This newest role is a much boozier choice as it’s with Cointreau.
If you don’t know what Cointreau is, you’re missing out as it’s an orange liqueur. It was one of the ingredients in the Original Margarita created by Margarita Sames in 1948. We have her to thank for giving us such an iconic drink.
The reason why the two are collaborating is to celebrate the anniversary of the iconic Original Margarita as it’s been 75 years, and the brand is launching a massive campaign to celebrate this iconic milestone. With the tagline of “Make Your Margarita MargaRight,” I can’t deny it’s good branding.
If you’re looking to celebrate or just love Aubrey Plaza, we have the scoop (recipe included!) if you’re looking to enjoy the Original Margarita or multiple margaritas this summer.
Aubrey Plaza x Cointreau celebrate the Original Margarita!
I don’t know about you, but I feel like this is such an amazing idea. Aubrey Plaza has no problem speaking her mind and she wouldn’t team up with a brand she didn’t enjoy. Plus, she’s a woman of taste so this collaboration makes a lot of sense to me.
Since the campaign has already launched, you can check out Cointreau’s website for videos, recipes, and more. Thankfully, the brand was kind enough to share the recipe with us so we could share it with you. So let’s break down what ingredients you need, and what you need to do! Let’s get into it.
As for ingredients, you’ll need “1 oz Cointreau, 2 oz Blanco tequila, and 1 oz fresh lime juice.” Then for how you assemble the Original Margarita, there are a few more steps: “Rim your glass with salt followed by combining all the ingredients with ice in a shaker. Follow that up by shaking until your drink feels chilled. From there, strain into a glass with fresh ice and garnish with lime.” It sounds simple but will be delicious when you put it all together.
Whether you’re entertaining or enjoying a night in, you can’t go wrong with the Original Margarita from Cointreau and Aubrey Plaza. You could go even further and put on an Aubrey Plaza movie or show to set the mood. That’s optional but worth looking into.
