Usually when we here at Guilty Eats see a new fast food menu item that is being offered in another part of the world, we lament the fact that it isn’t available here. I mean, I’m still smarting from the fact we never got the Franken Whopper that was only available at Burger King in Canada.

However, there are times when we see something and our reaction is quite the opposite. Where we see a new item that just looks so wrong and so out there that we are very glad we will not be tempted to give it a try.

The new Real Cheeseburger that is now available at Burger King in Thailand is one of those latter menu items.

The Real Cheeseburger at Burger King Thailand doesn’t include any meat.

It is being reported that this new Real Cheeseburger doesn’t actually include a burger at all. Instead the “burger” is just a sesame seed bun with up to 20 slices of American cheese piled on it.

Yes, you read that correctly. Twenty slices of yellow American cheese on a hamburger bun. Not mozzarella, not Swiss, not even muenster. No. We’re talking regular American cheese like you would find in the dairy section of the supermarket.

As you would expect, reaction to the Real Cheeseburger have ranged from some calling it an “abomination” to others saying they find it “intriguing” to some brave souls actually saying they would love to try one.

Odds are the Real Cheeseburger will never make it to Burger King on these shores but if it does, you can be sure there will be some folks who will want to give it a try. Us? That’s a hard pass, thank you very much.
