For the second episode of Season 26, the Worst Cooks in America are taking on the ultimate cuisine of love – Italian food! For this Love at First Bite season, the cooks are getting a crash course in making some of the best romantic dishes. And what better way to do that than with some Italian?

For the “That’s Amore” episode, the recruits get an introduction to Italian dishes and flavors. And of course, that means it is time for some fun and games, as the recruits have to do a blind taste test and ride on gondolas to figure out what they tasted. For the second part of this challenge, our recruits are paired up and they have to create their very own romantic picnic, but they are at a distinct disadvantage. It’s the kind of madness we expect from Worst Cooks in America, but done in a fun way that gets all of the recruits immersed into the world of food.

Thanks to the little details, the red team pulled out the win for this first challenge. But of course, now it is time for cooking. And the skill drill challenge is all about sausage and pepper sandwiches. As winners, the red team gets assistance when they are making their sausages during the cook.

Worst Cooks in America takes on Italian Cuisine in “That’s Amore”

So what is the blue team making? Jeff Mauro is teaching his team how to make a Sausage Sandwich with Italian Pico & Mozzarella. Whereas over on the red team Anne Burrell is teaching her Rocking Red Stars how to make a Sausage & Peperonata Sandwich with Provolone.

Each team has to recreate what their chef has taught them, right down to making their very own sausages.

So how did the recruits do? Well, there was some undercooked sausage in the kitchen for at least one blue team cook. And on the red team, it seems like the peperonata was where things seemed to be issues.

For the red team, the winner of the skill drill was James! While on the blue team, the winner was Michael. For their advantage, they get to change partners from the first round for the main dish challenge.

For their main dish challenge, the blue team recruits have to make Meatballs with Sauce over a Creamy Polenta. And on the red team, they are making Polpettine al Sugo with Cheesy Polenta.

The recruits have 60 minutes to recreate the dish they were taught. And right away, at least one recruit on the red team ends up drowning their meatball mix in water. Honestly, the cook went better than expected.

Michael ended up making the best dish on the blue team. And Charles ended up making the best meatball dish on the red side.

Sadly, someone has to go home from each team. So which recruits are heading home?

For the blue team, the eliminated recruit was Matthew. And for the red team the person going home is Amy.
