We are at the halfway point for Season 26 of Worst Cooks in America and that means the chefs are about to really turn up the heat in the kitchen. And in episode called “Some Like It Hot,” we already know that the first skill drill challenge is going to be hot and spicy, which is why it is called The Inferno Zone!

Once again Worst Cooks in America is doing another taste test based challenge where our recruits will have to figure out ingredients based on what they are tasting. So what are they tasting for this challenge? They have to eat three different styles of ribs and determine the ingredients they give it its heat and flavor. They only need to determine three ingredients specifically, and then they get in a tub filled with balls to find ingredients for their ribs and then throw it to their teammates in Velcro suits. It’s a whole thing.

In the end, the blue team is able to determine all nine ingredients the fastest. And that means they earn an advantage during the skill drill challenge. Their advantage? They get a hand from Chef Jeff in making wontons.

For the red team, it is all about making Spicy Shrimp Wonton w/Black Vinegar Sauce. While over on the blue they are learning how to make a Pork & Scallion Potsticker w/Sweet & Spicy Dipping Sauce.

So how did everyone do? Terri won on the red team. Over on the blue team, the best wontons came from Jessica. While Terri chose to stay with her teammate, Jessica opted to become a single for her team. And now it is onto the main dish challenge.

For this week’s main dish challenge, the recruits will be making a spice rubbed steak. On the red team, Chef Anne shows her recruits how to male Spice-rubbed Hanger Steak w/Potato Cakes & Asparagus. Over on the blue team, Chef Jeff is teaching his team is learning how to make his Spice-rubbed Skirt Steak w/Broccolini & Frites.

Of course, our recruits have to make their own spice rubs for their steak dishes. They have to put together their own ingredients and create their own potato dishes and vegetables to go along with it. This means that while they did learn a very particular dish from their chef, during this challenge, they have to get a bit creative.

It seems like there was a bit of a struggle in both kitchens. However, for the most part, everyone is able to at least get their steak on the plates.

This is an elimination week for both teams, so everyone needed to bring their A-game. So who came out on top and who is sadly leaving the Worst Cooks in America competition?

For the blue team, the best dish came from Allegra. Over on the red team, the best dish came from  Sami!

On the blue team, the bottom two were Kermit and Zach. Over on the red team, James and Terri were at the bottom. So who went home? Terri went home for red and Kermit went home on the blue team.
