It’s semi-finals time on MasterChef which means making a pasta dish and cooking along with Gordon Ramsay
It’s time for the semi finals of MasterChef, and just like the seasons before it, this is a dual challenge episode. For their first challenge, the MasterChef cooks will have to make a pasta dish. And for the second challenge, it’s all about cooking along with Chef Ramsay.
So what pasta dish will they be making? For this MasterChef challenge they have to make a stuffed pasta.
Under each cloche is a flavor that the different cooks will have to incorporate into their pasta dough. Reagan uncovers the spinach, Jennifer gets red beet, Grant gets the squid ink, Kennedy uncovers plain pasta dough, and Wayne ends up with saffron.
It’s semi-finals time in the MasterChef kitchen
The MasterChef cooks have just 45 minutes to make these pasta dishes. And there is no room for mistakes or errors. Overall, the judging was interesting with some cooks nailing it and others coming up a little short even in small ways.
Reagan, Grant, and Jennifer made the best dishes. Sadly, Kennedy and Wayne made the worst pasta dish and the person going home is Wayne.
Now the four remaining cooks have to take on the biggest challenge of the season…cooking alongside/head-to-head with Gordon Ramsay. They need to listen to the chef and cook in time with him! So what are they cooking?
They are starting off with a cauliflower purée and truffle gnocchi. And the protein? It’s a smoked venison! Towards the end, they will be doing a quick sauté of spinach
Considering the skill level of Gordon Ramsay, it is definitely impressive to see how these MasterChef cooks are actually keeping up with him. Are they making mistakes? At some points it’s hard to tell, and yet we definitely know there are some issues. Kennedy seems to have burnt her gnocchi, and Jennifer is struggling with her cauliflower purée. But, of course, the cook isn’t over yet. And anything can happen.
Kennedy got some great comments from the judges, as did Grant! Reagan struggled with her plating and was missing some things on her dish as well. And she wasn’t alone, as Jennifer also struggled with her dish, both with the plating and getting things on the dish.
The best dish was made by Grant, earning him a finale spot. He was quickly followed by Kennedy, who also did a great job with her dish. Jennifer was the final cook in the finale.
Sadly, this means the person going home is Reagan.
