Are you looking for some variety when it comes to your Lenten dining options? Are you a fan of Longhorn Steakhouse but you're worried that you will have to forgo the restaurant as you ditch the meat on Fridays during Lent? Have no fear, as Longhorn has you covered.

While we often think of Longhorn Steakhouse for their red meats, that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy them on a Friday during Lent as well. In fact, they actually have two entrees that are perfect for people who have given up meat for Lent, as well as some appetizers and salads.

First, let's talk about those main dishes. The two entrees that are perfect for people skipping the meat through Easter Sunday are the LongHorn Salmon and the Redrock Grilled Shrimp. With two seafood dishes on the menu, you already have more options than some places offer at all. And that doesn't even take into account the fact that there is an Entree Salad that also work perfectly for Lent.

Longhorn Steakhouse has an interesting variety of menu items that work for Lent

The Entree Salad from Longhorn Steakhouse that perfectly fit the Lenten bill is the Farm Fresh Field Greens with Grilled Salmon. Plus, when looking at the Side Salads on the menu, we have a Strawberry & Pecan Salad, a Mixed Greens Salad or a Caesar Salad to choose from. Want a soup and a salad? Longhorn offers a Shrimp & Lobster Chowder that would be great for people looking for a lighter, non-meat meal this Lent.

Finally, we look to the appetizers to really round things out. And if you have never tried their White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms, this is the perfect time to change that. Having recently tried these mushrooms for myself, I have to say that these are a meal all on their own. They are perfect for Lent and for anytime you want a bit of savory, cheesy magic.

The other Lent-friendly appetizers at Longhorn Steakhouse are the Parmesan Crusted Spinach Dip, the Texas Tonion and the Wild West Shrimp. That means that there are actually four different appetizers that are perfect for people observing Lent.

I love finding restaurants that we wouldn't normally think of when it comes to something like Lent and shining a spotlight on them. It not only gives us more dining options, but it might open your eyes to some of the other goodies a menu has to offer.

While steak might be king at Longhorn Steakhouse, there is no denying that they have plenty of other next level dishes on the menu. And we love this for all of us.
