If your social media feeds have been filled with people enjoying Dubai Chocolate bars, you are not alone! Over the past several months, the chocolate pistachio confection has gone viral. Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is joining in on the craze with two special one-day-only events featuring their twist on the renowned candy bar.
While there are many knockoffs, the original Dubai Chocolate Bar was created by Sarah Hamouda. Based in Dubai, she owns Fix Dessert Chocolatier. A Today.com article notes that the original Dubai Chocolate bar is named “Can’t Get Knafeh of It” and consists of crispy kataifi, pistachio and tahini paste encased in milk chocolate.
Ghirardelli is putting their own spin on the Dubai Chocolate bar with their unique Dubai Chocolate Sundae. This frozen delight features vanilla ice cream, handmade hot fudge, and a mixture of pistachio butter, white chocolate, and kataifi (shredded phyllo). The sundae is garnished with a gold-leafed Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Caramel square, whipped cream and caramel sauce. This decadent sundae is priced at $19.95.
The Ghirardelli’s Exclusive Dubai Chocolate Sundae Experience is only taking place at two of the store’s locations: San Francisco and New York City. San Francisco is a fitting location to debut this unique sundae, as it is where the Ghirardelli company was founded.
The Ghirardelli Dubai Chocolate Sundae is available for one day only at two select locations!
Tourists and locals alike will be able to sample this unique sundae on March 8, 2025 at San Francisco’s historic Ghirardelli Square. In a press release shared with Guilty Eats, Lacey Zane, Vice President of Restaurant & Retail at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, noted: “...we are excited to bring this special creation to our flagship location in San Francisco. The Dubai Chocolate Sundae is the best of Ghirardelli tradition while bringing a fresh take on the latest viral sensation.”
Two weeks later, on March 22, the Dubai Chocolate Sundae will debut for one day only at the NYC Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop inside the Empire State Building. Ghirardelli is a popular, well-loved chocolate brand, and it is anticipated that these sundaes will sell out!
