Baskin-Robbins goes full bananas with latest flavor of the month
By Trey Weston
Bananas are a source of potassium and a necessary addition to many of the best smoothie combinations. They also have an integral part of the latest Baskin-Robbins flavor of the month that is sure to have you saying ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-nana.
After a successful summer that featured the return of the heavily popular Beach Day ice cream, it is time for the September flavor called Oreo Monkey Business. The new addition features creamy banana ice cream combined with crunchy Oreo cookies and peanut butter, which sounds like quite the combination.
If this doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy, then maybe a Cappuccino Blast is more your thing. From September 1-October 31, anyone who visits Baskin-Robbins can get one of the drinks for $5 for a small, $6 for a medium, and $7 for a large. They also have the ability to choose between featured flavors such as Original, Caramel, Mocha, and Oreo, or they can customize it into a flavor of their choice.
Back to the flavor, I am a little skeptical about this one. Although I am a big believer in the Oreo and banana mix, adding the peanut butter might be overdoing it. But I am also sure that this one has enough novelty appeal to attract a lot of people to taste the new addition.
I'm also positive that Elvis Presley would have been a big fan of it. He was a big fan of the banana and peanut butter mix, and his sweet tooth probably would have led him to be open to the idea of having some Oreos in there as well.
While suspicious minds like myself may skip this one, others can't help falling in love with having bananas, Oreos, and peanut butter all together in a cup or a cone.
Is this something that you will be trying during the month of September?
