California Pizza Kitchen offers 50% off mac and cheese following viral TikTok post

If there's one thing about the internet, things can go viral quickly. And for companies, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. California Pizza Kitchen took a situation that hurt them in the eyes of the internet and turned it into an offer that could lure some customers to locations. All of this chaos stemmed from a viral TikTok post.
The madness began a week ago when TikTok user @fumptruck noticed something wrong with the CPK mac and cheese she ordered.
"I'm injured, my boyfriend and I broke up, so I ordered mac and cheese from California Pizza Kitchen," she said in an annoyed tone in the now-viral video, which is nearing 4 million views. "And they just sent me cheese. Just cheese, no mac. There's no noodles."
As the video began to increase in popularity more and more, it triggered a response from CPK. A few days after the post highlighting the lack of pasta, the company posted a clever apology and a special deal for all customers via TikTok. That offer is 50% off mac and cheese for the rest of the month when utilizing the code cheeseANDmac.
The TikTok user who initially posted won as well, as she received free pizza and mac and cheese for a year from the company because of the mishap. And that's huge when you consider how expensive things are.
The lesson to learn here is that sometimes, the power of the internet can lead to things you didn't think were possible. Take Krispy Kreme doughnuts, for example.
As for the rest of us, we will have to settle for the 50% off offer at CPK locations, which is available for delivery or take-out orders until the end of July using the code listed above.
That said, well played CPK. And special thanks to the internet for allowing everyone to eat mac and cheese a little cheaper till the end of the month.
