Is the most expensive combo on the Taco Bell menu worth the money?
For years, most of us went to Taco Bell for cheap eats and plenty of options. Even if we joke about them reusing the same three ingredients, it was usually filling and cheap.
Given how much inflation has affected everything, cheap eats feel like a thing of the past. Gone are the dollar days and instead, we're forking over $20 to get a meal for ourselves and we're not even going to talk about the portions.
Due to everyone being stretched thin for money, it can be tough to decide what you're going to order at Taco Bell especially if you're looking to get a combo. Unlike other fast food chains, Taco Bell does things a little differently with its combos so I wanted to take a look at which combo is the most expensive and if it's worth the price.
No matter if you're a long-time Taco Bell lover or have recently been converted, you might be surprised to learn which combo is the most expensive at Taco Bell.
Taco Bell's most expensive combo meal in 2024
For the sake of this post, we're not going to be including any LTO items as we're talking about the brand's regular menu. Additionally, these are the prices at my local Taco Bell in Pennsylvania so things might look a little different for you. With that being said, the most expensive combo at my local Taco Bell is the 2 Chicken Chalupas Supreme Combo which is priced at $12.19.
For $12.19, this combo includes 2 Chalupa Supremes made with chicken, a crunchy taco, and a large fountain drink. In looking at the menu, this item was not my first guess but I can see why. Taco Bell does like to upcharge when it comes to chicken. While it is annoying, it's been that way forever at Taco Bell.
In the name of a bargain, I wanted to break down how much each of these individual items would cost you versus getting a combo. If you just grab two of these chicken chalupa supremes, it'll be $11.78 and that's not including the taco and a drink. While it is cheaper to get the combo, this does feel like an absurd amount of money to pay for fast food. Given how pricey this combo is, I can see why Taco Bell introduced its Luxe Cravings Box which features the chalupa supreme with beef but you can always sub it out for chicken.
While getting this 2 Chicken Chalupas Supreme combo would save you money, it's still a lot of money for something that only comes with an extra taco for a side. It's not worth it. If you use the Taco Bell app, you can probably find a workaround but if you're just headed there and craving these, don't be surprised now by how much it'll cost you.
