Krispy Kreme has long been known for their Original Glazed hot off the line, or their wild collections like the Dolly Parton doughnuts now in stores everywhere. But with their latest release, KK is coming right for two iconic chains. That’s right: Krispy Kreme is getting small with their new Doughnut Dots, which, shots fired at Dunkin’s Munchkins, and Tim Horton’s Timbits.

The new line is launching in stores with four flavors: Powdered, Sprinkles, Cinnamon and Cookie Crumb. They join the Original Glazed dots, which were already on the menu.

“Krispy Kreme fans can now double down on delicious when picking up their regular dozen by enjoying our new lineup of Doughnut Dots,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme via press release. “They’re bite-sized, fun, and made fresh daily. They’re perfect for sharing or you can pop 'em yourself when you’re on the go!”

You can probably figure out the flavors for yourself, but Powdered is covered in “powdered topping,” Sprinkled has “rainbow nonpareils,” Cinnamon is covered in “cinnamon topping,” and Cookie Crumb is tossed in cookie crumb topping and then sprinkled with powdered topping. I guess they can’t call it sugar for legal reasons or something? I don’t know, I’m no lawyer, I just eat doughnuts for a living.

The new Doughnuts Dots will come in a 10-count cup, or a 24-count box, and are available “assorted” in the shop, for pickup or delivery. And to celebrate the launch of Doughnut Dots, Krispy Kreme is kicking off Dollar Doughnut Dot Days from June 10, 2024 (aka today) through June 16, 2024. As part of the deal, you can get a 10-count cup of assorted Dots or Original Glazed Dots for $1 with any purchase of a regular-sized dozen doughnuts.

So will Doughnut Dots replace Timbits and Munchkins? The real answer is that Entenmann’s Pop ‘ems are the real winner. Surprise! Sorry, chains, I will still eat your doughnut holes regardless.
