McDonald’s launching Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy for a limited time

There’s also a Deluxe Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy, but that seemed like one word too many for the main headline.

First, there was the McCrispy, and it was good. The McDonald’s chicken sandwich was launched around the time of the first Chicken Sandwich War. And now that Chicken Sandwich War II has begun, it’s time for the Golden Arches to expand its line with the Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy, and the Deluxe Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy.

The two-ish new sandwiches will be available nationwide starting April 22 for a limited time, joining the classic McCrispy sandwich on the menu. And you can probably figure out what’s additional, but beyond the chicken sandwich with crinkle-cut pickles on a potato roll, you’re also getting spicy Cajun ranch sauce, and applewood smoked bacon. The Deluxe version adds Roma tomatoes and shredded lettuce, so you can pretend you’re eating a salad or something.

Here’s how Mickey Dees describes the sammy: “The Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy is inspired by soul food flavors of the South… It’s the spiced-up touch the OG McCrispy didn’t even know it needed.”

I mean honestly, it sounds pretty good. In full disclosure here, and I know I’m in the minority, but if I’m going to McDonald’s I tend to get the chicken sandwich anyway. It’s a little heftier than most of the burgers, and the addition of pickles, lettuce, and tomato makes it almost like I’m eating health food. Yes, I was sick burning myself with the salad joke earlier.

The original McCrispy sandwich will still be available while the Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy is in stores, in case you’re not a spice or bacon aficionado. For the rest of us, it should be available nationwide starting April 22, 2024.
