McDonald’s celebrates National French Fry Day with two days of free fries

Friday is, appropriately, National French Fry Day. And to celebrate, McDonald’s is offering not one, but two days of free fries this year, so you can chow down on these salty sticks of potato on Friday, July 12, 2024, and Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Perhaps of note, the deals are different each day, so let’s break ‘em down.

On Friday, July 12, 2024, McDonald’s is offering free medium fries with any purchase of $1 or more. This is actually, shockingly, not a celebration of National French Fry Day, but just a regular thing McDonald’s does for its rewards members on Fridays. So while yes, you can get a free medium fries on July 12, you can also get a free medium fries on July 19, July 26, and in fact every Friday until the end of the year, all the way through December 31, 2024.

Perhaps because this falls on their regular fry-day (or fry-yay, whichever you prefer), they’re offering a second deal on Saturday, July 13, 2024. And this one is the real deal: you can get a free fries, any size, with no purchase necessary in the app – all day long. The offer is only valid on July 13, and only one time per customer. But heck, make it large and you’re good to go.

While you’re there at Mickey Days for two days this weekend (heck, just camp outside at that point), you can also snag the brand-new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, which I’m going to suggest might be an excellent thing to dip your free fries into. You can also snag the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder, which is back on the menu. You can also dip your fries into the burger, I guess, but it may not be the same sort of revelatory taste sensation.

One thing you can’t dip your fries into? Salads, because the chain (mostly) doesn’t sell them anymore. But that’s okay, because who wants salad when you can get free fries?
