Sonic Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float review: A nostalgic summer ride

Participating Sonic Drive-In locations are ignoring spring and skipping right on to the summer season, foodies! Earlier this month, the fast food chain teased the addition of the Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float beverage -- and it finally arrived on Monday, May 6. Have I tried it? You bet I have! Did I love it? Yes, absolutely. Here are my thoughts and my tastebud's first impression.

As a true Guilty Foodie, I enjoy sips and bites from every fast food chain. But if I had to pick my favorite stops, Sonic Drive-In would be in my top three. Sonic offers a seemingly endless variety of drinks. We're talking soda combinations, lemonades, the iconic Sonic Slushes, shakes, and more!

Get ready for the Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float to take your tastebuds on summer vacation. But not just any summer getaway, the ones with your parents and siblings when you were a kid. In my preview where I tease the upcoming arrival of this new beverage, I mention how there's just something about orange flavors. It's one we can taste by just looking at it. Or is that just me? It just takes us back to our childhood, giving us a nostalgic rush.

After the first sips, I declared the Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float to be summer in a cup! The new Sonic beverage blends sweet and tangy flavors, achieving a childhood summer vibe. This drink features Sonic's popular vanilla soft serve mixed with orange vanilla flavor bubbles.

The Sonic Orange Cloudsicle Slush Float is available now at participating chain locations. Please note that this is a limited-time item! You do not want to wait too long to try it. Once it's gone, it's gone, until they bring it back again the following year, but why risk it? Because what if they don't? I mean, I'm still waiting for Jack in the Box to bring back donut holes. Remember those? Sigh. The point is, you don't wait too long to try it! The drink is only here through June 30. I'm no expert (but I sort of am), but the Orange Cloudsicle Sluch Float goes great with tater tots and/or the chain's mozzarella sticks.
