Taco Bell is one of those fast food chains that is constantly changing its limited-time offerings. It feels like we've gotten 10 in the past seven months.

Even so, Taco Bell recently launched another one on July 18. The Cheesy Street Chalupas feel like they're a more elevated version of what the chain has offered in the past.

Each "street taco" features a cheesy outer chalupa shell as well as a smaller one featuring your choice between chicken and steak, jalapeno ranch, and a blend of onions and cilantro. We see you, Taco Bell, with that addition of the onions and cilantro. As you can see, TB is making sure we know that they're going for a "street" vibe here.

As with most of Taco Bell's limited-time offerings, we were excited to give this one a try and frankly, there's a lot to break down with this one.

Are the new Cheesy Street Chalupas from Taco Bell worth it?

Let me start with the price. For a single two-pack of these, it's $5.99. There is also an option to get a combo featuring tacos, an order of chips and cheese, and a drink. The combo is priced at $8.99 while the Cheesy Street Chalupas box is priced at $11.99. If you're surprised, so are we as Taco Bell is pulling out all of the stops with this release.

We snagged the Cantina Chicken Cheesy Street Chalupas and they were good. As with most Taco Bell items, these were good but not great. Personally, I'm not a fan of onions so I immediately nixed one of the ingredients. Even so, these aren't going to fill you up and are very small for the price. Of course, this is something we've noticed recently with Taco Bell as they tend to overprice some of the smallest items.

For $5.99, you could grab one or two things from the Cravings Value Menu and be full rather than eating two small street tacos. While it was a great concept by Taco Bell, the execution just didn't live up to what was promised. These were just so small and it made us so disappointed as they seemed like something different for Taco Bell but these were a disappointment.

Hopefully, Taco Bell's next limited-time item will be better as we'll hopefully get word on the Baja Blast Gelato. Until then, you can try these Cheesy Street Chalupas from Taco Bell now and see if they end up living up to the hype for you. They're not for us.
