Wendy's confirms rumors, announces Spongebob-themed menu

Not too long ago, reports began to spiral about the possibility of a Spongebob promotion at Wendy's featuring the beloved Krabby Patty. At the time, it was simply speculation, with the fast food chain neither denying nor confirming those claims. Flash forward to today, and Wendy's has officially announced that the popular cuisine item of Bikini Bottom will be heading to its locations.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Spongebob Squarepants, Paramount and Wendy's have created the Krabby Patty Kollab, available nationwide on October 8. The new meal features the following items:

• Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty: The iconic Vanilla Frosty mixed with a Pineapple Mango flavored puree swirl - a first-of-its-kind Frosty Flavor innovation.
• Krabby Patty Kollab Burger: Wendy's version of the iconic burger from the Krusty Krab featuring two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted premium bun.

"It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages!" said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S Chief Marketing Office for The Wendy's Company in a press release.

Happy 25th anniversary, Spongebob

It is still hard to believe that it has been 25 years since the beloved cartoon aired on March 1, 1999. With so many iconic moments and memories from the show, it is easy to see why it is up there with The Simpsons as one of the longest-running cartoon series.

That said, as someone who remembers its peak, it's hard not to get nostalgic when thinking about it. Some of my best days involved sitting in front of a TV and watching Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, and the rest of the gang on Nickelodeon.

Now, fans of all ages can enjoy the cuisine from under the sea as they celebrate 25 years with the Krabby Patty Kollab. Are you ready, kids (and adults)? I know I am.
