The best (and worst) breakfast menu items to get at Wendy’s
By Sandy C.
At Guilty Eats, we love all fast-food restaurants equally. But we’d be lying if we said we didn’t have favorites for different meals and times of the day. Wendy’s, for example, is hands down our go-to for breakfast! But make no mistake, not everything Wendy’s offers in the morning is worth your hard-earned cash.
If you want to start your mornings off on a good note, Wendy’s needs to be your first stop on the way to wherever you are going. Work? Right after Wendy’s. Meeting up with friends? But first, Wendy’s. Dropping the kids off at school? ...Okay, for this one, leave the kids at school before you go to Wendy’s, that way you don’t have to share!
The Best Items To Order At Wendy's Breakfast:
Tell me this doesn’t make your mouth water: Visualize an egg, sizzling bacon, and creamy swiss cheese sauce hugged by a flaky croissant bun. Not only is your mouth watering, but I bet you can smell it, huh? According to yours truly, here’s the perfect Wendy’s meal:
- Main course: Bacon, Egg, and Swiss Croissant
- Side: Seasoned Potatoes
- Dessert: French Toast Sticks
- Beverage: Vanilla iced coffee
Need some protein in your breakfast? Not a problem, just sub the Bacon, Egg, and Swiss Croissant for the Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant. If you are short on time or just want a morning snack, you can never go wrong with Wendy’s famous seasoned potatoes, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – can it get any better? But remember, unlike most fast food stops, Wendy’s does not offer breakfast all day. Breakfast times vary based on location. In my area, Wendy’s serves breakfast until 10:30 a.m. every morning.
The Worst Items To Order At Wendy's Breakfast:
As for breakfast menu items that are a huge skip in my book, there are only a few. I’ll start with Wendy’s most recent addition, the Cinnabon Pull-Apart. I reviewed this earlier this month and did not pull back any punches. Bottom line: It is not good. I was very disappointed. Save your money and taste buds and order the French Toast Sticks, instead.
Two other items to stay away from are the Oatmeal Bar and the Sausage Biscuit. Why? Because why go to Wendy’s if what we are going to order is an Oatmeal Bar? This is so insulting to its sweet and tasty offerings! And I have yet to try a Sausage Biscuit that is not extremely dry. Choke on my way to work? I don’t think so.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to rush to Wendy's for some French Toast Sticks before breakfast hours are over!
