Wendy's Cinnabon Pull-Apart review: This dessert is not (pull) a part of this complete breakfast

Wendy's has stepped up its breakfast game recently, but the Cinnabon Pull-Apart is just not it.

It was right around the early days of the pandemic when the fast food chain Wendy's decided to step up their breakfast game. All things considered, it's been a success. Wendy's has plenty of delicious morning offerings, and I'll go into detail on a few in just a minute. Unfortunately, the latest addition, the Cinnabon Pull-Apart, is mid at best.

I was really excited when I learned that Cinnabon, king of cinnamon rolls, was joining Wendy's menu. I mean, you can't go wrong with Cinnabon, am I right? It seems impossible to mess up such deliciousness. Well, Wendy's managed to do just that, folks.

Now, I know looks can be deceiving. Guilty Eats even shared a review earlier this month of a donut that looks anything but appetizing, and yet, it won us over with its flavor. Sadly, that's not the case here. Hide your tastebuds from this treat! Wendy's Cinnabon Pull-Apart is as good as it looks.

No, Guilty Eaters, on top of this Pull-Apart Cinnabon is not melted mozzarella cheese that has gone cold, it is Cinnabon's iconic cream cheese frosting. And yes, as if this wasn't criminal enough, this is all the frosting you get. There's no frosting at the bottom or in between.

The fact that my Cinnabon Pull-Apart was not handed to me nice and warm, and the frosting was nothing more than a cold squirt, could have been my personal experience. It does seem like it was sitting on a counter along with other Cinnabon Pull-Aparts waiting to be ordered, but this may not be the case for every location. Even so, is ordering one worth the risk? My vote is no.

The Pull-Apart Cinnabon lacks flavor, and the frosting doesn't help. I did warm it up in the microwave and it tasted a little better. But this is a fast food treat, so most people who order it are on the go and don't have a microwave at the ready. And why should we? This and all other fast food menu items should be ready to go as soon as we get them. After all, that's the whole point of fast food.

Once you manage to pull apart a chunk of bread, you'll need to have a drink handy because this is Dry with a capital D. My tastebuds were not having it, so after two or three pieces, I called it quits.

Don't let this discourage you from picking up breakfast at Wendy's the next time you're out, though! The chain has one of the best iced coffees in the fast food business! If you're craving something sweet, pair Wendy's Vanilla Iced Coffee with the French Toast Sticks! Bonus: Order the Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes. Just don't make this a (pull) a part of your complete breakfast.

Wendy's Cinnabon Pull-Apart. Wendy's Cinnabon Pull-Apart. D+. Wendy's fail to impress with the Cinnabon Pull-Apart. The latest breakfast dessert lacks flavor and frosting. For $3.69, you're better off ordering the French Toast Sticks. . The Cinnabon Pull-Apart gets a D+ for trying.
