Will Taco Bell make the Big Cheez-It the next Nacho Fries?

With the Big Cheez-It back on Taco Bell menu, it raises a bigger question.

Taco Bell continues to reinvent the word: "limited-time items." While some of us imagine it as something that's around for a bit and then gone, Taco Bell doesn't.

Instead, the brand continues to bring back items again and again without any real rhyme or reason. One of those is Nacho Fries and considering that they're back again, this question comes completely full circle.

That's why seeing Taco Bell bring back the Big Cheez-It is so strange. While it was popular upon its release, most of the reviews were lackluster at best. However, Taco Bell doesn't have much going on at the moment so why not bring back the Big Cheez-It again?

With the Big Cheez-It coming back so soon, will Taco Bell decide to repeat the pattern it has with Nacho Fries?

Could Taco Bell continue to cycle the Big Cheez-It back into its menu?

For the sake of transparency, I tried the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap and did not enjoy it. I can see why people would like it but it was not for me. With that disclaimer out of the way, it does shock me that Taco Bell would bring it back so quickly. It seemed like such a huge innovation when it was released and no doubt most of us were looking forward to TB bringing back something bigger and better as a way to one-up itself.

However, bringing back the Big Cheez-It items feels like another rehash of what Taco Bell has done with Nacho Fries. They got people excited about them, took them away, and then brought them back. While it's a good marketing strategy, it just proves to Taco Bell customers that the brand couldn't be bothered to come up with something new or would rather bank on hoping people will be excited about the Big Cheez-It items coming back.

Given how many exciting upcoming releases are coming from Taco Bell, the return of the Big Cheez-It feels a bit lackluster. Everyone who wanted to try it when it was released, tried it and now it just feels like a weird move. Either way, it's clear Taco Bell is looking to cash in on the supposed Cheez-It hype and get people excited about it. Plus Nacho Fries are once again back so this feels almost too good to be true.

While there's no definite idea if or when Taco Bell will bring back the Big Cheez-It items again, having them come back so quickly just feels weird. Maybe Taco Bell was trying to capitalize on people who weren't able to try them. Regardless of why or whose idea it was, there isn't a lot to be excited about with this release.

Hopefully, we'll see Taco Bell introduce some more new items and stop recycling the same few LTO items. However, I don't think we'll see the Nacho Fries cycle stop anytime soon as they're basically a part of Taco Bell's lore now. While we don't know if the Big Cheez-It items are to follow, it wouldn't surprise us if they do.
