Back in April, Ryan Reynolds’ gin brand Aviation American Gin did what amounts to the most obvious thing in the world… They announced Deadpool & Wolverine tie-in bottles of the beverage. But one aspect of the movie seemed to be missing: Wolverine. And surprise, now there is a Wolverine limited-edition bottle, to pair as best friends with your Deadpool gin.
In case you’re not familiar (this site is Guilty Eats, after all, not Guilty MCU), the upcoming film will pair up Reynolds’ Deadpool with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on a multiversal adventure that will tie together the Fox X-Men movies with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. And in advance of the July 26, 2024 theater debut, Aviation is launching a Marvel Ginematic Universe of their own.
While the Deadpool bottles sport the Merc with a Mouth’s signature red and black look, the Wolverine bottle embraces the angry mutant’s new costume for the movie. Back in 2000, when X-Men first debuted, black leather was all the rage. But now, after decades of waiting, fans are getting to see Jackman in the blue and yellow costume from the comics. And gin fans can see it too, as the limited-edition bottle is filled with the same Aviation Gin you know and love, but on the outside it’s dressed in blue and yellow. Just how you love Hugh Jackman, but now he’s wearing different clothes.
Per PR provided to Guilty Eats, the bottle is “Encased in a sleek black glass and accented with yellow custom strip stamps and metallic details.”
As for how you get it, well, supply is pretty limited. The Deadpool bottles are available nationwide, but the Wolverine bottle launched yesterday (July 10) in five states only: Florida, California, Texas, New York, and Oregon. How they picked those states, I do not know, and frankly, it’s insulting that this Wolverine bottle isn’t being shipped to Logan’s native home in Canada. Just kidding, it’s fine, I’m not actually mad.
You can also snag a Wolverine bottle at the Aviation American Gun Portland Distillery in, where else, Portland (see above re: Oregon, I think we cracked the code on that one) for $25. And as Deadpool might say, a glass of Aviation American Gin goes perfectly with an order of Chimichangas. However, Wolverine might prefer to pair it as a chaser with a cold beer.
