Princess Cruises wants New Yorkers to feel the love this Valentine’s Day with a special Love by Britto restaurant pop-up experience. The cruise line is taking one of its newest boutique restaurants and bringing it to land for two nights only.
Romero Britto has a unique, identifiable style of Pop Art that utilizes bright colors and geometric images. The self-taught Brazilian artist founded the Happy Art Movement, whose mission is to inspire happiness and fun.
In December 2023, Princess Cruises announced a collaboration with Britto. Love by Britto, an artist-inspired dining experience, debuted on the Sun Princess in February 2024 when the new ship was launched. The restaurant creates a multi-sensory, romantic dining experience that combines a special curated menu by Chef Rudi Sodamin along with artwork and tableware designed by Britto.
This Valentine’s Day, guests don’t need to board a cruise ship to experience Love by Britto. Event space Currents at Pier 59 will be transformed into the Love by Britto pop-up dining event February 13th and 14th. In a recent press release, Rudi Sodamin, Head of Culinary Arts for Princess Cruises noted, "We've created an event that goes beyond a traditional dinner, combining Britto's iconic art with culinary masterpieces to celebrate the universal language of love in a truly transformative way."
Celebrate Valentine's Day at the Love by Britto pop-up experience from Princess Cruises
Each of the two nights has a single dinner seating from 7-9:30 PM. Guests will dine amidst the artwork of Britto and enjoy a five-course menu curated by Sodamin. There will be specialty cocktails available like Strawberry Love Potion, Expresso My Love and Love Prosecco as well as wine and a Champagne Wall.
Dinner will include a Cappuccino of Wild Mushroom with Shaved Winter Truffles, a Savory Tuna & Avocado, Pomegranate, Togarashi, a Granita of Pink Champagne and Rose Petals, a choice of three mains (duet of Prime Beef & Wagyu, Chilean Sea Bass, or a Vegetable entree) and a choice of two different desserts (Lionel Richie's "All Night Love" Vanilla Salted Caramel Ice Cream with Assorted Berries from Smize & Dream by Tyra Banks or a chocolate lava cake). Since the evening is celebrating all things love, expect lots of heart-shaped dishes!
