Not long ago, there were rumblings across the internet about a rumored collaboration between two popular brands: Don Julio and Popeyes. The unexpected pairing raised a key question in all of us: What could an iconic tequila brand and a beloved fried chicken chain create together?
Today, we finally have the answer.
Don Julio x Popeyes are collabing for a Championship Lineup
In celebration of the Big Game and New Orleans’ rich culinary roots, Popeyes is launching a new creation: the Popeyes x Don Julio Reposado Flavored Concha Chicken Sandwich. This innovative sandwich features a chicken filet marinated in Don Julio Reposado tequila, topped with tequila lime slaw, spicy spread, a barrel-cured pickle, and served on a buttery concha roll.
Still hungry? That’s just the beginning. Popeyes is also releasing a Don Julio Reposado-infused version of its Louisiana Garlic 3-Piece Wings and a Spicy Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade Mocktail to round out the experience.
If you’re interested in trying it, here are a couple of important things to note:
- The collaboration will only be available on Jan. 31, except at the original Popeyes flagship store on Canal Street in New Orleans, which will offer it daily until the Big Game on Feb. 9.
- Besides the New Orleans location, only select locations will have it available.
