Here is what that Royal Wedding Cake looked like in the end
By Callum Gunn
It has been all about the Royal Wedding these past few weeks/months. All eyes have been on the happy couple but our eyes have been on that Royal Wedding Cake.
Everyone has a favorite part of the wedding. The brides dress, the church, the voes, the dinner, the after party, etc, etc. But here at Guilty Eats, it was about that Royal Wedding Cake.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t convince anyone from the Royal Family to send over a slice of the cake to taste. Not sure if it would have tasted any good by the time it arrived anyway so it was probably just as well.

Thankfully, plenty of photographers were on the scene on the big day and they managed to get some wonderful images of the Royal Wedding Cake for us to have a look at.
The Royal Wedding Cake
The cake has been of much fascination, not only for what it was going to look like, but because of what type of cake it was going to be. Traditionally royal weddings have tiered fruitcakes. They are usually not eating at the wedding either and are instead split up and given to the guests to take home.

In this case, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose to move away from tradition and instead order a non-tiered, elderflower and lemon sponge cake with meringue buttercream icing.
Claire Ptak, of Violet Bakery, was the one tasked with baking the masterpiece and she did just that. Bake a masterpiece. Photos have been released worldwide and now you can see for yourself the masterpiece that Ptak created.
