Dunkin’ Donuts is diving head first into the beer industry!
By Callum Gunn
Yes you did read the title right. Dunkin’ Donuts is getting a whole lot cooler by diving head first into the beer industry. Donut and a pint? Don’t mind if I do.
Who would have thought, that in 2018, we could have a beer at a Dunkin’ Donuts? I think if we all asked ourselves that very question a year ago; we would have just laughed in each other’s faces at how ridiculous it sounded.
But the ridiculous is actually here. Dunkin’ Donuts has teamed up with a brewery and very soon, you can order donuts and some coffee flavored beer. It’s a far cry from ordering a pint of beer on its own but you never know, that very well could be Dunkin’ Donuts next move.

It might sound like a bit of a mad idea but when you think about it, the decision makes perfect sense. Many of the ingredients used to make beer are also used to make donuts. Blending both beer and coffee are logical as well as most dark beers have a hint of coffee about them.
Teaming up with Boston based brewing company; the beer will be called the Dunkin Coffee Porter. A blend of both beer and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, the alcohol percentage is reportedly to hit the six percent mark. Pretty strong stuff considering it’s coming from a donut shop.
The new drink is expected to be available later this year, what remains unclear is if Dunkin’ Donuts will be selling the drink in their shops or if they will be sold elsewhere.
