The Special Olympics provides year-round competitions and training for athletes with intellectual difficulties. Serving approximately five million athletes across approximately 170 countries, it is the largest sports organization in the world for those with disabilities.

Tim Hortons supplied the doughnut, designed by Special Olympics athlete Savannah, which was your classic looking styled ring doughnut. Decorated in red and white sprinkles all over every surface, the doughnut certainly represented the Canadian spirit.

How many doughnuts Tim Hortons sold on the day, probably hundreds of thousands since they look so good, and how much funds were raised, has not been disclosed. It has only been 24 hours since the fast food chain was selling them so it’s not surprising that this has not happened yet.
