McDonald’s has made its way onto Love Island

Fans of the reality TV series, Love Island, were left baffled after spotting a McDonald’s cup in the background? Has a branch opened up on the Island?

Eagle-eyed fans spotted something strange on Love Island, a McDonald’s cup. This has left fans completely baffled since contestants of the ITV2 reality show are not allowed to leave the villa. So did the Golden Arches open up a branch inside?

It would be hilarious if it did. Imagine watching that play out on your screen, one minute all of the contestants are talking (or more likely arguing) with each other, next minute they turn around and order a Big Mac from the McDonald’s employee standing in the corner.

A spokesperson for Love Island has already come forward to shed some light on the issue. In a statement they said;

"‘Food is brought in for the islanders or it is prepared within the villa’"

Of course nobody is buying this. After all, if that was the case, we would have had an incident like this before. We are now onto our fourth season, if this has been allowed since the start, how on earth has a blunder like this not been spotted before?

Fans are pretty certain that this is evidence of the contestants being allowed to leave the villa. Something that is supposed to not happen; but seeing Jack drink from the McDonald’s cup is evidence that they are.

The problem is, nobody is going to come out and say that the contestants are allowed to leave the villa and that is why Jack had the McDonald’s cup. Love Island is built on the idea of all the contestants being together all of the time, it realizes on that illusion. If show bosses where to destroy that idea, then they would destroy the Love Island effect.

What we can definitely say for certain, is there is no secret McDonald’s branch hiding in the corner of the villa.
