The American fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A is going international with its very first store opening up in Toronto.

You got to love it when fast food restaurants go international. It means all of your favorite fast food is available everywhere. Chick-fil-A is the latest to make the international journey by moving North of the border into Canada.

Best known for their breaded chicken sandwiches, Canadians will be loving the idea of the fast food chain making the journey.

The first Chick-fil-A restaurant is scheduled to open up in 2019, with plans to expand throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Over a period of five years they plan to open 15 Chick-fil-A restaurants.

Reactions have been mixed about the fast food restaurant. Some have been welcoming, while others have not been so welcoming and some just don’t mind either way.

What will be interesting is how customers take to the idea of the restaurants not being open on a Sunday. Chick-fil-A restaurants close on a Sunday in accordance with Christian beliefs that are held strongly by the founding family.

Another point to consider regarding Sunday openings is how well they will do up against the competition. As there competitors are not closed on a Sunday, they could be at a disadvantage. This is not an issue in America but the restaurants are already established, with them just starting out internationally it could prove costly to them. After all, just because they succeed nationally, doesn’t mean they will internationally.

Only time will tell, but what we will say for now is good luck Chick-fil-A!
