Burger King brings back Surge and it’s awesome!
By Callum Gunn
Remember in the 90s when Surge was the drink to have with all your meals? Now Burger King is adding it back on the menu and it’s awesome!
Surge hasn’t been around much since 2003, when it was discontinued. As a 90s child, you know what it was like to suddenly find your favorite soft drink gone from the stores and from fast food joints. While Coca-Cola brought the drink back in 2016, there still hasn’t been an uptake on places adding it back in. Well, now you have another reason to head to Burger King.
Burger King has become the fourth place to add Surge back on the menu. It’s not clear yet if this is all Burger Kings or just a handful right now. If your chain has a free-fill machine then you can be pretty set on getting your Surge fix.

Surge shared on Twitter that it is back at the Burger King Freestyle locations. Oh, and this is exclusive right now. That means no other fast food joint is getting their hands on it, at least in the States.
This is the first time that it’s back as a fountain drink. Other places you’ll find it in can form, as it’s usually at specialty stores or in the odd gas station. That’s great for on the go, but what about when you want a Surge with your Whopper? Burger King understands.
