Tim Hortons has finally realized their leaky coffee cups need changing!

It’s taken two decades for them to get round to it but Tim Hortons has finally decided to do something about those leaky lids.

If you have ever had the pleasure of visiting the Canadian fast-food chain Tim Hortons then you will know their doughnuts are to die for. They could give Dunkin’s Donuts a run for their money and even scare Krispy Kreme as well.

However, one area that Tim Hortons has been lacking is their coffee. Not because it tastes awful or anything like that, but because of those pesky flimsy coffee lids. They are notorious for leaking.

Customers have made it known for years now that Tim Hortons need to do something about their cups but nothing has been done. Many customers, including myself, have just stopped buying coffee and instead opted for either an iced coffee or cappuccino because the lid is different and therefore I am less likely to end up with to coffee spilling down me.

And maybe that was their plan all along. If they ignored the problem with their cups people would opt for a different coffee option, usually a more expensive one, and they wouldn’t need to worry about anything. That is of course pure speculation and I hope that is really not the case.

Anyway, back to the original point, Tim Hortons has finally decided to fix their cups. Currently being trialed in six different branches, the new design is very similar to the lids used on their lattes with a few minor differences. A flip back cover is in place of the spout and a maple leaf has been designed on top of the lid as well.

The new lid could go through a few minor changes before being rolled out to its other branches; it all depends on the feedback they receive while testing so how long it will take for them to become commonplace is a big old question mark.

Fingers crossed it will be much sooner rather than later.
