Pizza Hut in Korea has launched itself into the robot future
By Callum Gunn
If you are out and about in Korea and decide to venture into a Pizza Hut, expect to be served by a little mini robot waiter.
When people vision the future they normally come up with flying cars, pill-sized meals, robots and more. Robots are clearly part of the Pizza Hut future and a restaurant in Korea is already experimenting with the idea.
The little robot is called Dilly Plate and can be found in the western Seoul branch in South Korea according to Yonhap.

Acting as a serving waiter the robot is able to carry up to 22 kilograms of food in one go and is able to serve guests the food. It’s all part of a test that will last for up to two weeks.

Robots inside fast food restaurants are not exactly something new now. Pizza Hut once used a Pepper robot in Japan for several weeks. However, robots are part of our everyday fast food culture now. It’s just how sophisticated and how many tasks they perform that differs. McDonald’s have the automatic Kiosks which are technically robots and they have proven to be so successful that the fast food giants plan to install more and other fast food chains are planning to install their own.
