Get a Scott Frosty: Wendy’s schools everyone who can’t take a joke
By Callum Gunn
Nebraska didn’t have the night they hoped last night but Wendy’s was on hand with a “Scott Frosty” to ease the wounds. It looks like some people just can’t take a joke, though.
If there’s one thing for certain, Wendy’s Twitter account isn’t run by the usual corporate toe-the-liners. The social media managers are witty, chatty, and ready to school anyone who can’t take a joke. That’s exactly what whoever was behind the account did last night when Nebraska didn’t quite get the night they wanted.
The joke wasn’t meant to be mean but has been taken that way by some. It turns out that Wendy’s offers a Frosty for a team that is hurting on game night and last night it was Nebraska. It just happened that the coach is called Scott Frost, which worked for a pun with the famous ice cream dessert that is a sure-fire way to ice down the wounds.
Taking to Twitter, Wendy’s offered Nebraska fans a “Scott Frosty.” It soon turned into a debate over whether it was meant maliciously or not.
Well, not quite a debate. A few people tried to claim Wendy’s had no respect (not the Nebraska fans, who came online to say they found the remark funny), but the person behind the Twitter account quickly schooled everyone.

There were a lot of comments back about thin skin and having enough salt for their fries. That did rile a few up, but for the most part, the interactions were positive. People later even shared that they hadn’t been to a Wendy’s in years but would go now just for their social media marketing.

It just goes to show that you can’t please everyone. Wendy’s isn’t even trying. If you don’t get a joke, you’re gonna get schooled. You’ll need to read the whole thread just to see the back and forths. It’ll take you all day but it’s most definitely worth it.
