Dairy Queen’s Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard is back marking the start of winter

With Halloween over, the fast food joints are looking ahead to a new season. Dairy Queen has brought back the Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard and it’s awesome!

Last winter, the Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard was the best part of the Dairy Queen menu. With so much success, the blizzard is back as the Blizzard of the Month for November. Yes, this officially marks the start of winter even if we do still have Thanksgiving.

You definitely won’t be complaining about this push for the season a little prematurely when you get your hands on this Blizzard again. DQ’s traditional vanilla soft serve is mixed with cocoa fudge and topped with crunch Oreo bits. It’s like adding Oreos to your frozen hot chocolate.

My only gripe is the “hot” part of the name, which clearly comes from the idea of it tasting like frozen hot chocolate. Maybe it should be the Fudge Oreo Blizzard instead. But that’s just a technicality.

Making it the Blizzard of the Month is excellent news. It shows just how popular this Blizzard was last year and means that it’s around all month long. You never know, it might stick around next month, too.

If you’re not quite ready for winter, you can always opt for the Thanksgiving Dairy Queen menu. The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is still around, bringing you the taste of frozen Pumpkin Pie. And then there’s the Dipped Strawberry with Ghirardelli Blizzard, which will make you feel like it’s the middle of a super cold summer.

Don’t forget the Snickerdoodle or the Reese’s Outrageous Blizzards, they are still around for a limited time only.

So much choice and so little time!
