Dunkin’ is taking on Starbucks in the Espresso war

Dunkin’ is going to war with its main rivals Starbucks. More specifically, the Espresso war as the coffee and doughnut chain upgrades their espresso drinks.

Starbucks better start watching their back. Because Dunkin’ is coming after them. The coffee and doughnut chain that keeps America running has been going through a lot of changes recently, including changing its name from Dunkin’ Donuts to Dunkin’, and now their attention has shifted to how they make their espresso.

Fully admitting that they are behind their main rivals, Starbucks, when it comes to their espresso line up. They believe their time is now to start fighting back and knocking off some of Starbucks competition.

Starting with a complete overall on their espresso’s and creating an entirely new espresso recipe. Dunkin’ has thrown the old recipe out of the window and created a brand new one. The new recipe uses more coffee and less water. Which results in the espresso giving a much richer taste.

New machines have also been installed in Dunkin’ stores where possible. Staff have also undergone training sessions on how to use the machines, and create the new espresso drink.

Whether it will make a difference, in the long run, will be interesting to see. This is only one of a handful of changes happening at Dunkin’ and no doubt there is going to be more in the future as well.
