If you have a hankering for a Big-Mac or a some McNuggets on New Years Day it might not be 100% possible to get some. It is, after all, a holiday. But with so many people out and about on the first day of the year, surely the biggest fast food chain in the world will be up and running? So, is McDonald’s open on New Year’s Day 2019?
Ok. So, it’s not actually a very straightforward answer here I afraid. Because McDonald’s is open on New Year’s Day. But it all depends on when you plan to go, and where you happen to live.

McDonald’s opening hours vary from location to location on any normal day, but on a holiday it’s even more varied. With some places being open later than others. What you tend to find is the McDonald restaurants located in your larger cities, or your bigger shopping malls remaining open as usual. Those located in your much quieter towns will possibly close early.
Basically, during the day, you are all good, head down as normal. You shouldn’t have any problems. But as it gets later in the day, or if you are searching in the early hours of the morning after the bells tolled, you might have to do some extra research on who might be open.

And the best way to do that is by ringing up your local McDonald’s restaurant and speaking to a staff member about the opening hours for New Year’s Day. Doing that is fairly straightforward. You can find the contact telephone number online. You can then use that to dial up McDonald’s directly.
