For a limited time, select KFC locations are offering an Extra Crispy Chicken sandwich built with care, love, and Cheetos.
When fast food and snack food come together, it’s like Christmas came early. Or late, depending on when the culinary miracle happens to appear. In this case, KFC.
KFC is the latest fast food giant to make everyone’s junk food dreams come true. The restaurant chain has decided to try combining the juiciness of its chicken, with the crunchiness of everyone’s favorite orange and “dusty” guilty pleasure.

The Cheetos sandwich is exactly what it sounds like — and more! Take a normal (extra crispy) chicken KFC sandwich, add Cheetos sauce, mayo, ACTUAL CHEETOS, and there you have it. Fried chicken, meets fried and flavored cornmeal.

We didn’t ask for this. We didn’t have to. KFC just KNOWS what we want, even when we don’t. At least, not until it’s advertised relentlessly in front of our faces, until we can NOT try it, fall in love with it, and mourn when it’s taken from us too soon.
This is not the first time Cheetos specifically have found their way into fast food menus. Cheetos have been around since the ’80s, which basically means they’re a cultural US staple that can never die. It was only a matter of time before the major chains gave us brand-new ways to enjoy them.
In 2016, Burger King launched Mac ‘n Cheetos, which — if you somehow forgot — was basically like eating a giant Cheeto filled with macaroni and cheese. That same year, they tried Cheetos Chicken Fries, which were terrible but amazing at the same time (now would be a good time to bring them back, don’t you think?).
Unfortunately, KFC’s Cheetos sandwich won’t make an appearance in most of its locations. For a limited time, it will be available in several locations throughout North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. And once it’s gone, there’s no guarantee it will ever come back.
You can, of course, make your own Cheetos chicken sandwich whenever you want to. Just add the snack to any sandwich you pick up. It’s not the same, and you won’t get that glorious Cheetos sauce. But it’s better than nothing.
