Want a good night’s sleep? Eat a bowl of ice cream

We’re not joking, ice cream has been proven to help you sleep and we’re here with all the details!

A snack before bed is frowned upon. In fact, you may be left with a stomach ache or feeling too full to get a good night’s sleep. However, if you chow down on a bowl of ice cream, you won’t only feel better, but you’re more likely to fall asleep at a better time.

If you’re thinking, “what’s the catch?” you may be right, though. After all, you can’t just serve yourself a large bowl of chocolate ice cream and expect to instantly be asleep. There are rules to this, but if you do it right, you’ll catch some zzz’s in no time! Here’s what you need to know…

According to a recent report from Food Beast, there’s a new ice cream out there that helps consumers sleep better at night. The company is called nightfood, and they won a 2019 Product of the Year award.

Nightfood’s claim is that they are specifically made to improve your sleep. The source reports that the snack stays low in calories and high in protein, which promotes rest.

"“Contrary to what you might think, nightfood isn’t adding melatonin or other sleep compounds to their ice cream to make this happen. They instead utilize a formulation that includes ingredients like glycine (an amino acid), magnesium, digestive enzymes, protein, fiber, and low sugar.”"

Due to the vitamins ice cream contains (if you shop for the correct one), ice cream is also known as a treat that helps with stress. Not to mention, doesn’t ice cream make all of us happy? Hey, you don’t have to tell me twice! I’m sold. It sure beats the bag of chips or donuts that usually accompany me on the couch before bed.
