Sonic brings back a fan favorite and introduces Deep-Fried Oreo Cookies

Sonic’s new limited-time dessert puts a new twist on a childhood favorite. The fast food chain is also revamping an old favorite snack you might recognize.

It seems all the major fast food chains have entered a deep-fried dessert war. Burger King’s Funnel Cake Fries look great and all, but they don’t compare to a classic combination with a delightful twist.

You’ve had Oreo cookies. You may have even copied the commercials and dunked your Oreo cookies in milk. But have you ever deep-fried your Oreo cookies and dipped them in ice cream. Sonic didn’t think so, either. So they’re giving you the chance to try it now.

Oreo A La Mode is everything you never knew you needed in a fast food dessert. It starts with an Oreo cookie sandwich (one you can only get at Sonic, obviously). Said sandwich is battered, deep-fried, and served with a side of vanilla ice cream (hence “a la mode”).

Oreo’s don’t normally crunch, but we’re willing to give this almost-too-good-to-be-true treat a chance. Did we mention you dip the deep-fried cookies in the ice cream? You’re already hunting for your wallet and car keys, aren’t you?

Before you go out of your way to indulge, this isn’t a nationwide release. (Why? Because some cities just want all the crunchy, gooey goodness for themselves?)

The approximately 600-calorie dessert will only be available at participating locations. So if you’re picking up dinner tonight, feel free to ask if you’re one of the lucky ones who get to try this brilliant masterpiece.

For just $3, you can treat yourself to a dessert that’s so extra it will only be offered for a limited time. Because let’s be honest: Some things are much better enjoyed alone on your couch while you’re watching Netflix.

And the news just keeps getting better! For the same price, you can also get a dessert you haven’t seen in a while: Cinnasnacks! Except they’re called Cinnasnacks A La Mode now. Same concept as the Oreos, except instead of cookies, it’s cinnamon roll filling inside warm pastries.

That New Year’s diet was going pretty well until now (mostly), but even if you can resist a deep-fried Oreo dipped in ice cream, no one can resist cinnamon roll filling. Take our money while you still can!
