Cheese and other dairy foods are good for your health, from reducing your risk of stroke to burning fat and boosting your weight loss, according to studies.

Love cheese and other dairy foods but worry about your health? Several studies show that dairy foods such as cheese can actually benefit your body, from lowering your risk of cardiovascular disease to burning fat.

Cheese and dairy foods lower stroke and cardiovascular disease

A new study shows that dairy foods such as cheese can reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, according to Body and Soul. Those who feel guilty about cheering for cheddar or bringing on the brie can relax based on the research, which studied over 130,000 people from 21 countries.

Individuals who ate a minimum of two dairy servings per day, including cheese, reduced their risk of stroke as well as lowering their risk of cardiovascular disease.

Researchers concluded that it’s possible consuming whole dairy foods such as cheese could benefit the health in ways not yet fully understood (and by the way, if they need more study participants to munch mozzarella, we’re there!).

Dairy foods boost weight loss, burn fat

Adding to the reasons to say “yes please” to that tempting slice of Swiss, research indicates that eating dairy boosts weight loss, notes WebMD. One study showed that adults who were over-weight and ate a diet high in dairy lost much more weight and fan than those who consumed a diet that was low in dairy but had the same amount of calories.

“If you compare a dairy-rich versus a dairy-poor diet you can nearly double the rate of weight and fat loss with the same level of calorie restriction,” revealed researcher Michael Zemel, PhD, professor of nutrition and medicine at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
