You would think actors would want to think about the food they were eating. That certainly wasn’t the case on Game of Thrones. The actors just needed one sandwich and we’re certainly not judging!
Whatever you thought about the final season of Game of Thrones, you likely watched the documentary. The Last Watch was a chance to see all the work that went into the final season, from the first table read (poor, Kit!) to the last scene filmed (again, poor, Kit!). But while many actors focus on eating healthily, that wasn’t the focus throughout filming. There was one sandwich the cast members survived on.
We’re certainly not judging for the decisions. With 14 weeks of night shoots, it wasn’t all that surprising to hear that the cast and crew just wanted food that would help them survive (the long night) and comfort them in the cold. One of those items was the “Fully Loaded Toastie.”

An item that started off as coffee truck owner Leigh McCrum’s invention to enjoy, it quickly became the staple for the cast and crew. A toastie made with tiger bread (the best bread in the world!), it included chicken, ham, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, onions, and tobacco onions. Yes, it sounds delicious and it must have been for the amount of people that would ask for it.

It was an excellent moment to find out that everyone loved the same thing. However, it doesn’t quite beat the Irish extra who was astonished (as were many others, probably) that the “club” in “Club Sandwich” is an acronym. “Chicken, Lettuce Under Bacon.” Every day’s a school day!
