Domino’s employs robots to deliver your food

Heads up Domino’s fans. The next time you place an order with the pizza company for delivery it could be a shock to the system for you when it arrives.

Technology is moving and moving fast. Before we know it, robots will be a part of our natural life, going about doing whatever it is robots do. It will probably be like the movie I, Robot or something. How far away that day is unclear, but for Domino’s however, the day of the robots has arrived.

Domino’s, in partnership with the robotics company Nuro, are launching driver less robotic cars to deliver our orders.

Yes, you read that right. Driver less, robotic cars will soon be delivering our Domino’s straight to our door. How soon? Well, right now actually.

The service has not been launched nationwide, but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if it happened one day. Right now, according to Wired, the service is being offered in Houston. It is in the pilot stage, with the plan to offer the unique service nationwide in either 2020 or 2021.

Now, this isn’t the first time the idea of an automated delivery service has been announced by Domino’s. A partnership between the pizza company and Ford was announced, but goodness knows what happened to that program. It just disappeared into a black hole of nothingness.

Fingers crossed this new program is a success and doesn’t disappear into the oblivion. Because it would be pretty cool seeing a robot car drive up with your food ready to go.

So, what do you think of the idea of a driver less delivery service being offered by Domino’s? If you live in Houston, would you be trying it out? Drop a comment just below sharing your thoughts.
