Krispy Kreme adding ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, and custom donuts, oh my!

Fed up of heading to another restaurant or fast food joint for your milkshake and ice cream sandwich fix? You won’t have to with Krispy Kreme’s future.
Ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, and custom donuts, oh my! Krispy Kreme is certainly looking to expand, offering you many more reasons to get all your sweet treats and delicious eats from one place.
It’s been more than 10 years since Krispy Kreme changed anything! Just recently, the model of the Concord, NC store changed and the reopening is about to happen. What will it bring? Plenty of new items that could see their way around all the many stores around the country (and the world?).

Three new items are being added to the list. Donut lovers will be able to grab milkshakes, custom donuts, and ice cream sandwiches (made with donuts, of course!). In fact, the milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches will feature “donut-infused ice cream.” Yes, that’s what Krispy Kreme is calling it! The ice cream is actually inspired by the one and only Original Glazed Doughnut.
What does that mean? I think you’re going to have to head to the grand opening today to find out!

And you’ll want to get there right away. While the grand opening isn’t until noon, donut lovers have been reporting lines snaking around the building since 6 a.m. local time on the Facebook page.

The milkshakes come in five flavors. You can go for normal Vanilla Glazed or opt for Double Chocolate. Classic Strawberry, Salty Caramel, and Oreo Cookies and Kreme are also available. All five flavors come with a mini Original Glazed Doughnut.
As for the ice cream sandwiches, there are six combos to try out. Vanilla Sprinkled, and Triple Chocolate will likely be the co-to options. But you can also grab Vanilla Fruity Crunch, Vanilla Chip, Cookies & Kreme, and Chocolatey Caramel Coconut. You get the ice cream between an Original Glazed Doughnut sliced in half.
As for the custom donuts, there is a slight limitation. That’s understandable considering how busy Krispy Kreme is going to be with the new menu additions. You’ll be able to buy in packs of three or six, with five glazed options, five drizzle flavors, and 10 toppings. It’s not clear if you’re limited to the number of toppings, so that’s something you’ll need to find out.
